| Cleaning the Aluminium Strip on Side Steps |

Hi guys,
Over the last 3 months I've noticed some dark/grey marks on the drivers side Side Steps of my 2011 Disco 4 Landmark. I thought this was strange as the passenger side step is fine, but it's not scuffs from shoes etc and doesn't come off with a pressure washer.
I'm conscious there could be coating on the aluminium, and t-cut may remove this. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get these marks off?
I can upload pics later on if required.

I use metal cleaner like autosol. Apply, then buff off.
Works for me

Read a thread suggesting a washing powder and water paste, with a kitchen scourer (so) sponge and elbow grease. I tried it, worked a treat  MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

Another vote here for Autosol.
The trim on my steps was tar-spotted and marked with road film that washing alone wouldn't shift. A rub with Autosol and they came up a treat. Have since treated them with HD wax to try and keep them looking that way. "The quality remains long after the price has been forgotten." Henry Royce

I use black tea (yes) on my alloy wheels to get off that stubborn brake dust. Comes off with one wipe where a pressure washer wont move it. You could try that...wont cost you too much to try

Thanks guys. Autosol worked an absolute treat! Side steps now look as good as new! Awesome stuff.

You want any Aussie to tell you what black tea is?  I heard about it a while back when looking for a solution to brake dust that I couldn't remove. Just wiped on the tea (not hot) & it came straight off. Don't know why but cheap & effective

2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I drink coffee  but I will be making a brew later and see the results from that !
