I think it's between keeping the XXV and a FFRR ...but the infotainment is just as bad as the disco 4 and looks so dated now.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...why did Landrover have to make a pigs ear of the new disco

That last question of yours is something that's very difficult to come up with a rational answer to...

Don't new FFRR's have a more modern centre screen?

Definitely keep the XXV for a couple more years and back it up with an extended warranty.

Although on another note. When I took the Disco 5 back to the dealership and gave my"constructive feedback". The sale guy advised one of his customers is getting the back door modified at a body shop "so it looks better". For £70K i'd want landrover to have got it right rather than let a pished Gerry McGovern anywhere near a design pad..

Mark the spark...where did you get the idea for the avtar?

had the avatar up since i bought it last year i hadnt seen anyone use it before so you must keep a low profile on here . i thought wed outed all the XXV owners on my "the ultimate disco "thread

think we might be up to 7 of us now then Thumbs Up

I've had an enforced D4 absence for 19 days now while I've been in an RRS loaner. I've started feeling very sorry for myself every time I see a D4 go by. They really are magnificent and distinctive looking cars. I can only imagine how I'd feel I'd made this change permanently Big Cry

There's only one current LR that can hold a candle to the D4 and anything else would be such a downgrade from an XXV!

Had a FFRR 4.4D Autobiography on test for 2 days....but didn't see an extra £30K worth of motor. Ok the seats were super comfy ( Yes.... loved the massage function) and the way it drove ( adaptive dampers and all that stuff) was noticeably different from the disco.

Then used up my voucher at LRE in a FFRR Vogue 3ltr Diesel......not a great deal of difference between the 3 + 4.4ltr which was a surprise.... ok the 4.4 was a bit swifter and quicker off the mark as you'd expect.

So......both left me with the feeling of not really missing anything and no desire to spend the cash on a new set of wheels.

Keeping the XXV meantime to something better catches my eye and probably use the money on an extension...lol

Glad you’ve still got the XXV and it makes a lot of sense to keep it.

Changed my D4 to a FFRR SDV8 AB since I last posted. It’s very different to the D4, more of a properly off road capable luxury car, than the ultra practical proper Land Rover that the D4 is. Bet you’d notice the difference between the V6 and the V8 on the road and away from the LRE centre - there’s a lot less roll with the V8.

It is crazy though - upgrading to a D5 should have been the obvious move; all it had to try and do was be better than the 12 year old design that it was intended to replace.
