I had mice somehow set up home inside the car. They seemed to particularly like chewing my chewing gum...

We had either a rat or some type of rodent in our LA D3 when we left it parked for 2 months at the Land Rover dealer in California. Had the engine powered washed at LR. lucky no damage.

Mice regularly chewed through the washer wiring insulation under the bonnet on my D3. They set up home between the bonnet and the sound proofing fabric. They are also partial to the fuel filler pipe on top of the fuel tank. Quite a few posts on here about that issue.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
