Is there a milage that wheel bearings tend to go?
Been hearing a low like a scraping noise since the past 2 weeks mainly when driving slow or slowing down. Sounds like it's coming from the front. My NYC D3 has 105,700 miles now. Never needed a hub bearing replacement before, wondering if it's that. Taking it into my indy on Thursday to check it out.

Could also be the torque converter making that weird scraping noise just as you come of the throttle at low speeds especially when theres houses/wall/cars to reflect the sound back to you, mine has been doing it for over 2 yrs now!

Brake pads? If one bearing has gone the other side will follow shortly, change them both and only fit a reputable(Timken) make It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Mine were changed by the previous owner at 95 and 97k.
No idea what they fitted but at 162k, they are smooth and tight so couldn't have been cheap crap.

I also replace everything in pairs. My front bearings were replaced at 96k and 190k and my rears replaced at 205k. I only replaced the rears because I had the whole rear handbrake and brake system replaced after hand brake failure.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

07 D3. . From new. Replaced both sides around 40000 miles! Recon this was due them being over torqued on initial assembly (320 newton meters) . Replacements replaced at 58000 miles (230 nm) . Shows the folly of not fitting Timken bearings. Just an aside Mikey fitted the last one took about 15 minutes from wheel off to wheel on. Shows the benefit of using coppaslip when assembling when replacing .LRJ please take note and with your new enterprise please hire some real practical engineers. The ones you have seem to have the following attitude to things " I doesn't take them of I just puts them on"

Had it checked. It turn out to be the right front hub bearings. At the indy I go to they change the whole hub with bearings. There was no movement on wheel, but you can hear it. Will change it in the next week or so. What is a good brand or brands of hub with bearings that I should buy.
Thanks,

That's spelt Timken! The front bearing cannot be split from the hub, you buy a hub with a bearing sealed in it as a unit It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
