hi

i took me motor to a garage yesterday morning to have a new air compressor fitted. when i got it back i put it over the pit to underseal and waxoil it. it was then i noticed the air compressor cover had been left off. in fact it looked like it had been pulled off as the two corner bits were still there with the screws in. i called the garage and i was informed that the original cover wont fit over the new AMK compressor so they just took it off and binned it. i said it must still fit as now the whole thing including wires are open to the elements. they say everyone has to do this when they replace a pump with the AMK model. is this true or are the bull

There's a different cover for the AMK compressor I think.

Some AMK compressors kits come without covers and the old ones won't fit.
I have the same problem previous owner had compressor replaced with an AMK, I've tried to get covers but had no luck.

ah so they could be telling the truth. i cant leave it like that. looks like ile have to buy some ali plate and make one

I've brought a brand new cover for an AMK and it doesn't fit, mine has an AMK sticker on.

Looking at some suppliers there are two types of AMK kits. One comes with full covers and the other an AMK Arnott doesn't, the later has a different mounting bracket and bolt configuration so the covers don't fit.

I've looked everywhere to get a cover without luck, been told you can't get covers for the AMK Arnott ones, I'm considering buying a complete new compressor kit

A genuine Landrover amk compressor kit comes with correct top and bottom covers, different pipework, the amk compressor and a relay.
