Simple questions,
Would you expect your Main Dealer to run a quick diagnostic to check for faults when the car serviced.
I checked my car for faults prior to being serviced, thought I will not clear them, lets just see what the Dealer does, in my case the car came out with 12 Faults, 2 more than when it went in

Im not sure what they are supposed to do, but like you, I would expect them to check it.
Maybe they only investigate if the car is showing an error somewhere on the dashboard. Crap if that's the case!

I'm not sure what a main dealer is supposed to do but I am not happy with mine since being taken over by a large franchise.
I took mine in with an intermittent fault in the suspension - very intermittent I might add.
I only took it in because it is still under warranty and has eight months to go.
Without even looking at it they suggested the compressor fault and has booked it in for replacing.
I am not a mechanic but if it was the compressor I would have thought it would be a permanent fault but as it is only very intermittent I would have thought it was a component sticking, dirty possibly due to the dusty environment I use the vehicle in or at least something other than a major component.
Does the fact it is still under warranty have anything to do with what they replace do you reckon

Hi,
Conversation I had with main dealer, they may look at the codes logged but Don't clear them as a matter of course so they can see any historical issues Transit! 2019

They don't unless you complain of a fault, the reason given is that it is a chargeable service!! ------------------------------

The bigger question is: why do people use LR main dealers for servicing? I'd sooner let my Spaniel loose on my vehicle than let a main dealer touch it. Total waste of time and money and, in my experience, cause more problems than they solve.
Use a decent indie for everything other than manufacturer's warranty work. Any extended warranty work can be done by an indie.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I use a main dealer for servicing as they are the only ones that honour the servicing plan taken out when the vehicle is bought.
