Urgent advice BritPart compressor pipe fitting kit..

Hi,

I've bought a Dunlop replacement compressor and a Brit Part pipe fitting kit in case my pipes are stuck. (They are) this joins the pipes with Voss connectors. Everything seems obvious apart from the fact there are 4 brass sleeves with a shoulder at each end. They fit inside the replacement pipe sections or slide into the pipe joiners but I can't work out why I need them. Has anyone used this kit before who could advise me. I'm just at the point of no return, ie not disconnected or cut the pipes in my Disco yet, just so I know exactly how to do it. It's rather urgent if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks

I think it's like the second photo.. But would appreciate a nod to confirm.

Thanks for the replies, I was taking the second photo before I read therm ..this seems to be what I think and you suggested

Maybe the smooth end of the brass tube goes into the push fit I see in the pic and the end of the tube with the raised rim is what you push the nylon pipe onto?

When we work on plastic water pipe we have support sleeves that go inside the pipe before it is pushed into the fitting, i assume similar idea on the air pipe ??

Andi.

Edit, having looked at the picture again, I'm sure they are pipe support sleves that push into the end of the pipe to stop it being deformed when it is pushed in the fitting.

The third photo is what I meant to upload with the notes on it. I think you're right about pipe support...

Thanks to both of you for replying, I'm in the French alps on a Sunday and need to get it working for tomorrow. There's nothing like the availability of spares here as in UK. I just didn't want to do it wrong then need more (unavailable) parts

Well it's all back on, pipe connectors worked, it seems to be working fine, the only thing I was a bit concerned about was how long the compressor seemed to run when I first started up. It have me a fault initially but after clearing, then raising and lowering a few times it hasn't returned. I've driven it in off road mode up some steep Rockey stuff, littered and raised a few times. It all seems to be functioning ok at the moment. The motor temp is varying between 45 and 80 degrees, the compressor temp gets up to 125... I'm not sure if this is in the normal range or not.

Anyway I can raise and lower again, I suppose the next test is if it successfully self levels over night. It previously threw up "suspension fault, normal height only" and then blew the 60 amp fuse regularly. So time will tell.

Thanks again for the help
