Well I never knew it did that - works really well - Thanks Taz!
I'd been using the right hand knob on the radio to scroll/select through menus.

Just found that my Jan 2006 HSE can now do this.
I had a problem with the head unit displaying NO SERVICE when I went through a no signal area, but this would not clear once the signal returned to the phone. They loaded all the software patches to the phone system at the service a few weeks ago. They also attempted to get the nav on the move to work but failed.
Then found this thread and requested that when the car was back to again try the 'nav on the move' update they load the TSB metioned on here but they could find no track of it on landrover systems (and I believe them).
However my phone book now works via the bluetooth...
Therefore one of the other updates done on the phone system seems to have done the trick even though this TSB doesn't seem to exist any more.
Suggest you all suddenly got this 'NO SERVICE' fault, and request it to be sorted by upgrading the phone software? If you use a non approved phone, don't foget to let them know that you get the same fault on your wife's Nokia 6230i phone (which is what my wife uses in the car).

Chatting with a dealer today about this; they had heard about it but needed to know what phone I had - apparently if you have an N95 you will have to wait till mid January at the earliest for N95 compatible PTI software to be released... corruptissima re publica plurimae leges

Hi All
Not an owner yet but ordered a D3 XS commercial in sept & am hoping for delivery b4 xmas (but not holding my breath)
I've ordered PTI & sat nav and just trying to pick up the thread of this post. It seems that you can't download your phonebook unless you get upgrade to the PTI software?? But presumably a new D3 will come with the latest software patch already installed??
Also it appears you need an upgrade for sat nav on the move?? Again will the software on my new D3 already have this installed??
Cheers

Woody/Blue meanie Do you have any info on what the fault was to have your unit replaced (before upgrading the software) as my stealer is trying to charge me £400 for a replacement unit!
Does anyone have the latest version of the TSB they can post here so I can have a little more info than the first post? (and the TSB seems to have been changed.)

Hi Bodsy,
I was told that the bluetooth unit would not except a software download, kept locking up and was therefore faulty, said that they would order a new unit under warranty and try again - yours should definitely be covered under warranty
I also seem to remember someone saying that a lot of the early bluetooth units were faulty in that they would not except software downloads - just can't remember who said it.
Hope that helps Zambezi Silver TDV6 HSE, Privacy glass, Side steps and Maxxraxx 5 Bike carrier.

Bodsy,
the f/w upgrade was withdrawn quite soon after it was released. The options I was given were:
if you really want the functionality then you have to buy a new BT module, (I'm guessing the pre - '07 module has different non-flashable firmware or something)
I've elected to await the patch, which LR tech are allegedly working on to enable pre 07 versions to work. dealer techies should have the same access to the info, so if they're trying to load a withdrawn f/w upgrade on a module that has been highlighted within the dealer network to having 'issues', then it's down to them I'm afraid because they should have known better!
unless of course you explicitly told them to 'give it a go' or something similar ? 'resistance is futile!'

When I spoke to the dealer this morning (and when i booked it in) they were aware of the upgrade and had (alledgedly) done it on another vehicle.
LRCS have just called to say that the TSB doesn't exist & the technical team have never known of a software upgrade to my VIN (strange as the dealer did this morning).......
Anyway, off to pick the car up now & guess I'll have to wait to see if there will EVER be an upgrade to the PTI!
LLR, if you get any more updates, would appreciate a post or a pm Club MTR

My bt unit had to be replaced as it locked up and even after they reset it, it would not work at all. It took them about a week to get the new unit and during that time I just put my 6230 in the cradle as not one of my phones could find a bt signal in the car to connect to.
