That ok but you will need to have a fixing to the recovery eye and it is a big lump to have on the car all the time ok if you tow every day. and if you want to pull a nato trailer you will find you will need to put a extra plat on to give you more height as the tow hitch is about 700 mm off the ground Home of RLD Hidden winch mounts Spare wheel Locks Trailer Body Fabrication [email protected] D3/4 sump plates MY 14 sump plates and the Discovery Sport wheel protectors Discovery 5 wheel locks

I'll only have it when I'm planning on using the Nato. It wouldn't be for ongoing use, but I can live with it being at 600 instead of 700mm height. attachment to the towing eye is not too difficult (I think) but I hadn't thought of that. Bodsys Brake Bible

That's what I'm using, but it's way too low as std. Even if you set it at 500mm, so that's why I'm getting the adjustable bit to add onto it and hgain some more height.
Ray does a setup if you're using Nato hitch regularly. PM him for the details as it uses the North America hitch o connect to the car. Bodsys Brake Bible
Thats what I did, but I also fixed it at the top through the recovery point or it is only held at the bottom of the slide which is not ideal. I cut the bottom of the LR adjustable mount off as with the top mount did not need the arm thingies which restrict off road height... I have not done any sums on this, but it's not fallen off yet Pic's show a pin and ball on the slider but a nato mount can just as easily be fitted. I cut the blanking panel to fit either side of the rack which looks tidy and protects the sockets..
Only pi55er is it sets the reversing sensors off. (Only when the slides fitted).

Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

Nice job xrt.
I'm looking at doing the same on my D3. I already have the LR "adjustable hitch" (slot in hitch with plate and reinforcing arms back to chassis) which isn'nt really adjustable without unbolting. I have used dixon bate ladders and sliders for years on other LR's and need to do the same to the D3.
How have you made the conection at the top of the ladder to the eye bolt hole on the crossmember? Is it a special bracket you have bought or made up? My issue is that I have multiple trailers with different hitch heights and obviously want to tow safely with level trailers.
Any info much appreciated.
