Suspension Dropped on motorway, cant communicat with laptop

Just bought the car and owner said suspension light on dash goes out after a short time, it didn't and on the motorway the Suspension Dropped with no warning, it dropped so low it scraped the spare wheel and punctured the tyre.

turn the ignition off and back on and it raised to drive height, but dropped again as soon as you drove it.

we got it home and have tried to connect computer but it won't communicate, please can anyone help us to find the problem linking into the computer.
thanks
Eddie

If you've just bought it, with a suspension problem, I'd be inclined to take it back for a refund.

The suspension light should go out with engine start, not after you are driving!

I think you may have been had with this one. Sad

What software are you trying to connect with?

I think this was a private purchase and new owner was aware of problem.

Return to seller. It could be any one of a large number of things. Re the spare wheel that shouldn't have been low enough to hit the ground, was there something on the road or an uneven surface? The spare hitting the ground at speed could have been disastrous.

I just looked under mine there are two steel plates in front of the spare and the exhaust pipes that should hit the ground before the spare and none of them should hit the ground with the suspension dropping to the bump stops. The spare must not have been on properly. The spare hitting the ground at any bit of speed could flip the Discovery.

Cant help with the suspension probs, sorry. It could be a long drawn out affair that one Whistle
However regarding the spare wheel tyre, well i drove mine back from St.Ives in cornwall to Sheffield south yorks. Towing a tintent on the bumpstops. (yes i know i should not have, but did).
No damage to the spare or tyre.
You sure it wasn't damaged when you picked up the motor?

The diff is lower than the spare, even a full size spare shouldn't touch the ground.
