Restricted Performance

Ive had this come up 3 times now.
The first time I just used my GAP 11D to reset and all was well.
Second time I forgot to check for error codes and when i re-started car all was well
Today I plugged in the 11D and got this.

L319 - Discovery 4 2010
Vehicle scanned on 17-07-2017 09:09
Using IIDTool BT V3.0 B2204

BCM-Body Control

B1D97-96 (2F) Tilt sensor - Component failure - internal failure
( on 13-07-2017 09:23:34 at 124423 km )
B10F8-13 (2F) Accessory socket 'A' relay - General electrical failure - circuit open
( on 13-07-2017 09:26:47 at 124423 km )
IPC-Instrument Pack

B1A85-96 (28) Ambient light sensor circuit - Component failure - internal failure
( on 15-07-2017 01:14:17 at 124440 km ).

Took car to my local indy and he plugged his expensive "SUN" system in and it showed error code P006A.
My 11D does not show this, anyone know why.
Indy says looks like split inlet manifold, he will do a smoke test to be sure.
If confirmed it looks like a £1000 fix.

I've had both inlet manifolds done on my MY11 D4. The O/S was done in Oct 2015 at about 95k miles and the N/S last week with 111k on the clock.

Mine was just shy of £800 inc VAT from my local indy, with Warranty Direct footing the bill for everything except the excess and injector pipes.

Whoever thought to use plastic for inlet manifolds.
Crazy.
Indy says it may be a pipe but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I'll report back when i know more.

Do you know if its the O/S or N/S? There's a TSB on the O/S...plenty on here about it.

Thumbs Up

Has anyone ever tried to repair the inlet manifold with Araldite?
I would have thought if the seam weld was well cleaned and roughed up, then Araldite should work.
Any thoughts from you clever chaps out there.

Mine had same fault. Local indy quoting £550 for one side, £800 for both as the bits are off so less labour, therefore saving.

Parts are on back order with LR so I suspect there is a widespread problem with this.

Shame I can't chance my arm with LR but it's 5 years and 95k on it so reckon they would wash their hands of it Mr. Green

touch wood not needed this but certainly Araldite or other high strength glue would surely be worth a try ? what about fibre glass resin ? it would soak into the crack before it went off.

Had a smoke test done and it turned out the leak was from the joint where the air inlet joins the throttle body.
I had to buy a new Throttle body at £296 inc VAT. Better than the £900 I was quoted for the manifold split.
Fitted today and tested all okay.
Trying to find a price now to have the EGR's blanked. Supplied and fitted.
