An unusual suspension fault. 🤷🏻♂️
Hi,
I’ve just repaired a rear wheel sensor issue which had down the usual with the speedo and suspension etc etc. I wasn’t able to lock the suspension when I had the LR jacked up to test wiring etc. I’m now getting a suspension fault that doesn’t appear until you try and change ride level. Every fault I have had before has just come on as soon as the LR was started but, this one actually starts to move the height and then says no, normal height only. I’ve had it plugged in and all seems to be getting power etc but the heights at each corner are wildly out! The LR sits ok, but the heights on the diagnostics are way out. Do you think it needs calibrated? Is it perhaps not wanting to move the height because it thinks it might go beyond a tolerance?
Cheers everyone
Eddie

What voltage are you getting back at each corner sensor

I am no expert but have learnt over the years if the fault was not there before you touched it, you have done something to upset it, so need to recheck what you have done even if it seems obvious that it is not the issue, ie wiring pulled out of plug, wiring damaged and you moving other stuff finished it off etc etc

Did you disturb the height sensor wiring

I wish I had taken a photo of that. I will plug it back in tomorrow and find out. From memory it was getting more at both fronts.
Will check again tomorrow.

I did think i might have disturbed/damaged the wiring, but it’s odd in the sense that I’ve never had a suspension fault that only brings up the fault when you try to use it. There is every possibility that it’s a damaged wire though and my wiggling it about has annoyed it.

For ur suspension , put it into normal height , use a tape, measure from the centre of the wheel to the bottom of ur wheel arch
Front 465mm
Rear 485mm
Set ur steering wheel dead straight and check ur steering wheel angle is correct
Hope that helps

Fault with Rear right suspension voltage at 0.05 is this the one you were working on?

It’s a wiring fault. It’s now presenting itself as every other one I’ve had 😂😂😂😂

That’s not my photo of the voltages. Don’t know why that’s there.

Does the voltage to the control unit look too low?
