Not giving up yet.....
Almost decided to give up 'biking but couldn't quite bring myself to do it so decided to extend the inevitable day with a cheap set of (non-depreciating) wheels;

Those that know about white ST1100 Pan's will know they indicate ex-police 'bikes but this one has an odd history....
Was originally ruby red colour and sold privately. At three years old was bought by Hampshire police
Reason for that is that the replacement ST1300 Pan's had some serious handling issues at high speed, enough to make Hampshire mop up decent 2nd hand models of the old 1100's
It was resprayed white (but retains original gold wheels; police spec' is silver) and all the blues and two's added. Did 5-6k a year for three years and then 500 miles a year for the next three years before being pensioned off to last owner. Only evidence of its ex-life is RH bar switch pack has extra controls for equipment no longer fitted. Can retro-fit original but unless a bargain crops up on web I'm sure I won't bother (one of the buttons operates the new SMIDSY lights on the front where blues went in service)

I'm with you and can't give up my bikes either. My leather jacket has shrunk over the years though
