Uploading POI's to Satnav

Can anyone help with some questions regarding uploading POI’s to my satnav please. I have been waiting on LRCS since the 6th July to answer me, but despite me dropping them a couple of reminders, I still haven’t had a reply which to be honest, is pretty poor customer service. Rolling Eyes

What size/format of icons can be loaded onto the sat-nav ? The handbook says that 32 x 32 bit icons are fine, but I can only get 22 x 22 bit icons to appear ? I know that the icons have to be .bmp or .jpg but can someone clarify what the maximum bit or pixel size is, and also if ’16 colour bitmap’ or ‘256 colour bitmat’ or ’24 bit bitmap’ files are acceptable, as those are the options to save the icon in, after resizing it in Windows Paint.

Can you also tell me if I can add an mp3 or .wav audio file to my speed camera POI, as the speed camera database from Pocket GPS World also gives me the option of a spoken warning, will the cars system be able to recognise and play an audio file ?

Hi, I don't have any problems loading up the gpx files, it's the bmp icons that I'm having the problem with and also need to know if the sat nav will play the audio file associated with each speed camera Thumbs Up

It will play audio files but only at the point the onscreen vehicle on the sat nav screen reaches the location of the speed camera, so is a bit of a waste of time as I assume you want a warning of approaching a camera.

As far as icons go I just used the star files that are already available, yellow for a fixed camera, red for a mobile etc

The audio file from GPSW tells you the speed limit as you approach the camera which is very useful for me but the question is, will it accept .ogg files or .wav or .mp3 ? As yet, JLR Customer Services Technical are still too busy to reply to my query which I sent them on the 6th July Shocked

Funnily enough, I was just about to start uploading the POI's to my car to try it out, but if you are going to have a go at it first Whistle

We don't have many speed cameras around here to try it out, I think that you might have a few more down your way though. Thumbs Up

Have to say that I'm really not impressed with LRCS Crying or Very sad
