It's a case of beer management. As soon as one is drunk/space freed up, food is in there. Though have to confess milk has priority. My road trips are fuelled by coffee and, that's doesn't taste good with sour milk.

That's a view I'm going to have to get used to. Just with a fewer RM boxes and the Chianti box had Pot Noodles & assorted cans in it.

You are not meant to run high draw stuff like a winch off a deep cycle battery are you? Assuming that's what you have?
I would have thought running the winch off the starting battery would be better with the engine running and alternator pumping in?

The two are linked and when the winch is in use the engine is running.

Just done the same thing to my newly acquired D4, a couple of boxes moved around to created enough space for an auxiliary battery to be fitted

OK, looks best to put the battery in where LR had intended, before filling it with stuff.
Now I really only need a couple of ciggie lighters live off the Aux battery, one for the fridge and one for the Anker block to charge the tech.
Next question. How easy is it to make, say, the 2nd and one of the front ciggie sockets live off the aux battery in the front, without feeding a cable through, or is that still needed?
I was thinking of taking the little stop/start battery out as it does not seem to do anything. Even after a 200 mile run there is no stop. The IID tool does not seem to see it in the set ups, so I wonder if the original owner had it switched out in software.
Other possibility is dump the tiny battery and shove in the red top and let the D4 electrics charge it.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
That's a sure fire way to permanently damage your car and cause untold electrical issues. The battery is connected to the PSDB (Power Supply Distribution Box) which is essentially a smart charge relay with more intelligence than a VSR. The smaller battery is used as part of the starter system, the main battery is connected to the motor part of the starter and the smaller battery to the solenoid. Both are used to start or restart the car.
Overall there are 72 or more inhibits on the vehicle that will prevent the car from performing an eco stop from engine, transmission, brakes, air con etc.
If you want to fit a second/third battery there is space in the rear above the rear wheel arch behind the trim. Quite a few people have installed them there and made a fantastic job of it.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8
