They look really useful, the hardest part normally when jacking a car up to work on it is finding somewhere to put an axle stand when you've used the safest point for the jack.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

They've been around for a while here's on from a few years ago
Don't know if I'd trust in with the weight of a Disco though

It would be even better converted for standard a Disco scissor jack!It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

This would suit all commercial garages and Gary's D3. You have certainly put some work into that beast of yours.

many thks
liked the concept and just thought it was an interesting video, suprising how people come up with different designs to simply do the same job
has indeed been a lot of work, orginally bought it as a project i knew there would be challenging times ahead, but really enjoyed solving problems and the rewarding feeling when resolved
best feeling was when i resolved the air bag issue, now that was a challenge, lol
got a few things left but know i've gone through the entire landy with a fine tooth comb and reaping the rewards
then when finished am looking forward to finally get in some off roading , coming from a freelander i wish to see how it drives using the terrain response settings etc , to see the difference of a disco in alternating terrains

also bought a set of those, wouldn't be without them, i always use them before i even remove the wheel
used a scissor jack many years ago whilst changing a front tyre on my old series , came off the jack and onto the floor
so from that day forward i swore never to use one again , so a lesson learned

think like most of us, i hate those scissor jacks , should be banned
they should at least come with a large steel base that's fixed to the scissor jack so they can't tip over
Related subject ... I picked up an extra set of wheel chocks from Screwfix, only a fiver or so. Label says for 16" max. wheels but compared them to the LR ones and they are same size.
Added some strips of foam to them as otherwise they make great castanets and I didn't fancy that racket going off in the boot 🙂.

I must say I am not convinced by this system. I have a set of those cheap ones with the single upright (nothing as flash as DG and GS). I found I had to 'worm' around them to get under the car to do certain jobs E.g. Downpipe, Bell housing. As I have gotten older I am less 'worm' and more 'sea lion' and with the stand having a bigger footprint there is more to 'sea lion' around.
Also if I want to jack up the front I jack up under the front cross member and place 2x stands either side whereas this system you need to jack up each separately.
I do need to upgrade to the flash ones with more stable bases (as shown by DG) but this means spending less on my car and more on tools which may never happen
