But some were guesses and Im sure some of the answers were not very well worded, ie the one about alloy body panels being made from alloy left over from the war I thought it was as steel was hard to come by so they used the alloy?
For the uk to survive it was expott export or die.

Wasn't it that steel would be allocated if you had a good export market so LR used alloy in exports to enable Rover car builds from steel?Series 1 V8
