Front suspension

Well week one into disco 3 ownership, driving home tonight and the front drops, pull over with warning lights on, says raising slowly, need to get home so carry on driving and then back goes down with compressors overheating will raise when cooled, any ideas folks, the way it happens looks like lost air at front then pump working overtime to keep rear up till cut out,

Ok started up last night rear went straight up front was very slow, then the pump over heated, came out this morning and it is still up, could the compresser be the issue? Any ideas?

Confused sounds like compressor is struggling, a blocked drier can put extra load on the motor as it tries to raise the pressure causing overheating BUT if its dropping beforehand that points to a leak? If it was purchased from a dealer get it back to them ASAP - good luck

That's what I thought to go down quick but it's staying up, could it drop low if compressor isn't working properly? Or would it just mantain the height, did take 5 minutes to raid the front

Not usually, compressor will normally run at start up or if the height is adjusted, I don't know why it would suddenly drop of its own accord if thats what happened - maybe get fault codes read? Is it dropping overnight? Front or rear? If it is noticably, then you have a leak! If the compressor is working overtime due to a blocked drier then it will eventually expire, if you cath it quick you may get away with it Thumbs Up

No stayed up over night, the front just went down felt myself sliding off seat, then rear went down when pump over heated, are there any good fault readers to but that won't brake the bank

Have a look at iCarsoft, basic but useful,(has to be LR Discovery compatable - general OBD scanners won't work) iid tool is good but more expensive, perhaps someone on here could help you out if the have a multicar licence? Thing that worries me is your suspension stays up overnight yet it 'collapsed' for some reason when you were driving? Really should get this checked out ASAP Thumbs Up

Good luck - I'd use the Disco to see if the fault develops or persists and can be identified re the 'collapse' rather than go on hols and be stranded TBH Confused Always help available on here from people lot more knowledgeable than me and some guys who are sponsors are very good - if you can make contact with someone local maybe they could give the car the once-over? Have a great holiday and hope all goes well Very Happy

Ok, so the suspension has stayed up, can't find air leek, raised and lowered a few times and front raises slow for off road, that's about it driven for half hour no problem as test, parked on drive turned off and it self levelled, any idea? Happened in the week when raining? Could this have made it dump all the air if electric fault?

Confused May well be an electrical fault, I've never heard of it but I'm no expert - just what I see on here! Laughing
If your compressor has been working hard I believe its worth changing the drier (or just the beads) as a preventative measure Thumbs Up Did you get codes read??

Haven't had time, or asked about to see if anyone near me, I'm thinking of rebuilding the compressor anyway but won't have time till after holiday, just wondering if anyone has experienced this before Neutral
