replacement crank kit

Right eb selling replacement crank and pistons kit for £1750 Is it worth biting the bullet and buy this now and fit it before it fails?
Can it be done engine in gearbox out?
tried local mechanic but he is not interested
And then comes the big question Am i replacing :censoredt: with more :censoredt:

What's EB? I'd doubt very much you could do it by just removing the gearbox! I would think it's a full on body off engine out and strip with full rebuild, at the very least.

Personally I'm sceptical.
