Steering angle sensor fault
Hi this morning I changed the front inner tie rods and track rod ends on both sides of my wifes 05 hse as they came up as an advisory on the mot.
Swaped out both sides and was happy that it was straight forward and an easy job until I drove down the road and the abs kicked in without me braking.
I got a flashing (!) mabe traction control when turning right then came the HDC fault inop followed by special programs off then hight sensor inop suspension lowered and then the 3 amigos lit up on the dash.
I have an icarsoft LR II and all it shows is a load of communication errors but when I select reset steering angle sensor it doesn't want to know.
reset/cleared the communication errors and all light gone and normal business resumed until I'm about a mile down the road then it does the same again.
Anyone got any ideas on this one for me as I'm thinking the chance of the steering sensor failing at the exact time that ive swaped bits on the steering is very unlikely and it seems like it just needs reseting.... can anyone with an icarsort help me out here please?
New rods and tres length set up by eye to old ones that were removed and its into a local garage Monday for a full 4 wheel setup on a hunter.

It needs 4 wheel alignment THEN recalibrate the SAS. Mods:

Cheers Narpy I will have another crack at it Monday when everything is pointing in the right direction
Does anyone know the sas reset procedure using the icarsoft LRII? Is it just a case of hit the reset button and job done or is something else involved?

Point the wheels forward with the steering wheel level before resetting.
No idea how that software you have works but that's the usual procedure with MSV2 and IID.Mods:

As a VERY quick measure, you can put up the 4x4 info screen and see at what point the steering angle display changes left vs right from straight ahead on the steering wheel itself.
That allowed me to get home once (by doing some emergency tracking angle adjustment), when I'd headed off without my IID in the vehicle.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Didn't think of that good plan.
Bad news is although the icarsoft LR II has the option to reset sas it will not reset it on the d3 2010 onward only so time to make a new friend with a computer or pay someone at a garage god knows how much to reset it for me

If it's not far out, equal, compensating, turns to the track rods can bring it to non-fault without having to worry about any diagnostic devices.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Right then I'm back from the local tyre shop and after a session on a very nice Hunter machine the front and rear toe has been set and the long list of faults hdc/ride hight/special programs off etc has gone.
Pluged the icarsoft in and cleared all the communication faults then took her for a good run.
