| New Owner - Water dripping from passenger air bag pillar |

Just bought a 2005 HSE Discovery 3 and got my first niggle as with all the wet weather we had last week it started dripping water in from the passenger air bag pillar and landed on my wifes lap which was unexpected! Looking this up is looks to be a common issue with the sunroof draining pipes?
I spoke to the dealer who said its a common fault and to take it to a local garage to get it fixed and he will cover the cost. Is it something i can do thats simple? it would save me taking it in ect...seen a few posts blowing air down the pipe and strimmer wire to clear blockages?

If you could face taking out the CJB (after doing it once, the second time is relatively easy) I'd replace the whole pipe run for the newer design if it hasn't already been done. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Thanks Highlands, what's the CJB? Also I can have a go at replacing the pipe, where is best to get the part?

Central Junction Box, somewhat like the Fuse/Relay Box but with added electronics that makes it expensive and a pain to replace.
If you do decide to do the whole hose you'll need hinge pins for the glove box as well, as they normally break when being released.
It IS tricky to do the first time as there are connectors on the back of the CJB that you have to reach up to and they have a sort of clamshell locking mechanism (again, much easier to do the 2nd time).
I found the most tricky bit was working the CJB down and out of the way. Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Bear in mind that the leak could also be from the exterior A pillar trim or a badly sealed screen. My mate has had an intermittent leak from exactly the same spot and he doesn't have a sunroof. Stu

And there is a LR tech bulletin on this very issue on how to have the holes on the pillar sealed.

It is most likely to be the sunroof drains.
The newer ones are of a better design and have a hard nylon bend on the bottom of the drain to stop the blocking of the pipe, I had mine changed about 3 years ago and since it has never blocked and has stopped the water draining into the passengers side of the car, the old ends were rotten, mine is also an 05 model.
