Hi all,
When I picked my D3 up a few weeks ago, it didn't take long to work out the front drivers wiper wasn't quite right. Popped the nut cover off and found it to be loose, so tightened it up and went on my merry way - first fix, 2hrs out of the garage!
Cue last weeks rain and the problem resurfaced. Closer inspection revealed a worn spindle (and arm).
For now, hoping that a dab of loctite and a nice tight nut will fix temporarily, but wondering if others have experienced this and if anyone had any advice to repair it before I go down the route of fitting a new motor/ linkage assembly?
Ta,
Rik.

Just a bump with this one,
I have had a search for new linkage assemblies (nothing wrong with the motor but not sure if it is practical to swap it out), but I can't seem to find any new units. Everything seems to be second hand eBay breakers. No joy with usual suppliers either.
Ones from companies come with return promise of course, but wouldn't want to replace it with another worn one.
Anyone have any advice or suggestions as to where I might source a new one? They seem to be difficult to come by?
Failing that, I will try the main dealer... Always good for a giggle!

Make sure the splines on the spindle are clean and free from any debris left over from the previous fitting of the arm.
As I understand it, when the nut is tightened the softer plastic of the arm is crushed into the splines of the spindle.
I did this to mine a few weeks ago, all good since New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

I snapped a spline and after looking at the mechanism and prices I got a complete motor and mechanism to which the splines are part of for £35 off Ebay. It's super easy to fit once you remove the A-pillars covers and scuttle panel. 2 bolts and disconnect and reconnect the power connectors. May be worth buying a wiper puller for a few £ or maybe not if you replacing. Also buy an A-pillar fitting kit from advanced factors just in case you snap the plastic clip while removing (I did 3).
