various faults
blanked the EGR valves at the weekend after getting a loss of power whilst away. improved slightly but still not right. I am taking it to get the software update/Patch for the EGRs soon.
yesterday, while driving I had the lights on the dash flashing like a Christmas tree and pinging like a kids bike bell. Had the dreaded 'F' in the gear selection window, Suspension Lowered, Transmission Fault - limited gears available, Park Brake Fault, HDC Fault - System not available, Park Brake Fault (in that sequence). On switching off and starting again all disappeared and off I drove again for it to happen a further 2 times after about 1km - 2km.
Spoke to Geoff who suggested cleaning up the ECU plugs and those surrounding which I duly did.
same issue today? any thoughts anyone?

You really need to read the codes.
Mine did the same with a faulty/worn through speed sensor and showed up with a fault code, replaced and all was well.

D&G - had it just under a year and spent more time under the bonnet than on any other car! Changed Air Con Pump, brake sensor and discs, front inner and outer boots, transmissions filter, injector, leak off....to name a few.
Love it but get frustrated with it.
hoping its a diagnostic and a brake switch or speed sensor rather than new ECU or something more exotic!

That's the problem with the system, one little error and all the toys come out of the pram. It cascades down so tends to look much worse than it actually is (hopefully) but the codes will or should reveal all.
If the chap looking knows his stuff, I dare say it will be pretty obvious.

I only had the EML on before the patch was applied so the rest of the Xmas tree lights must be something else, not the EGR's surely?

got it back with 34 codes - mainly old and historical. all cleared bar 2 (parking brake and cluth position not learnt) - going to look at these separately.
it went into tantrum mode on my way back - phoned garage and they told me it would be the patch - something to do with 'not getting what fuel/gas it wanted when it wanted it and having a tantrum'
