"Phone not fitted" message. |
|
Hi,
So I have just joined the D4 club - and gone in with a 2010 XS D4. It has all the upgrades with reverse camera, tv etc as well as phone written everywhere and all the controls on the wheel.
However when I press the phone button (whichever one) its says "phone not fitted".
It was sold as having a Bluetooth phone set up - and I cant believe it doesn't with all the displays etc. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this an error?
Or is it as it seems - and I need to get a module or something!
Thanks as always.

If they have done a reset of the CCF file, it might have lost the changes for the phone module. Also it could be the bluetooth module has been taken out of the MOST loop or even the fuses could have blown.
I've been in brand new build cars that have all the buttons for the phone, but none is fitted. If they've assumed the buttons mean it's fitted when advertising I'd have words with them. If it isn't fitted or even working, get them to fix it by installing it. 1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Suggest you follow Wiggs advice if not already done so
I've got a MY10 HSE that definitely has Bluetooth, but when not activated on the phone, throws up the 'phone not fitted' message.
Occasionally throws a strop and refuses to pair - so I 'forget' Land Rover on the phone and then set up again.

Don't want to sound patronising, but the Bluetooth on your phone is active and discoverable, the phone is paired to the car?
I often get in the car and curse the car when it says no phone only to find it is the phone still on airplane mode, or still linked with my GoPro.

^ sounds like me
I've got a personal Iphone and a works Samsung - both paired - but car will only remember last one used - and sometimes when last one used is not in the car or Bluetooth deactivated as I want to use the other one, it sulks and wont engage at all, until I turn car off and turn on again or re. pair
Always done it, never bothered in getting it looked at

Is there not an option to change phone? I have 2 iPhones and the D4 remembers both phones but only pairs with one. However I can change what phone is paired with the D4.

^ not in earlier models. You can pair more than one but if both are in the car it connects to the last one it connected to and you can't alternate between them like you can on later models. The infotainment/phone screens changed significantly at MY12 and again at MY14 I think.

Hi everyone - thanks lots for your answers - they really helped. And although brutal (wiggs 😊😂) it really helped.
Basically my phone wouldn't discover the car when searching - time after time. Soooo in the end after googling it turns out even though it wasn't connected, my legacy connections were stopping it. I deleted all previous connections and then it found it. So for some reason that was stopping it.
After it had done this - it all connected and worked fine 😊
Phew. Thanks.
