Halogen to xenon conversion

Hi All

I hope i have posted this in the right place.

Recently brought a 2007 discovery 3 SE. The car is great apart from the Front lights. So my question is it a easy swap them to xenon units, are they just plug and play ect or do they do any that take halogen bulbs but have projector lenses also the best place to buy them from.

Thanks in advance

DAN

Welcome, yes they are plug and play.... to an extent. Just plug them in and they work fine but might flicker for a few seconds on start up. To get rid of the flickering you need someone with an IID tool. Just to be clear it's the entire headlight unit that has to be changed not just the bulbs.

I had mine on Halogen settings with Xenons in there for a few years and it's something that's easy to live with. More a bit dim for the first 20 seconds or so. Then I got the IID and switched over. Thumbs Up

Okay thanks for your help.

Those who have converted to xenon. If it is possible could you send me the part numbers for the xenon headlamps just so i can be sure to get the right ones, if i can find any. Are the connectors ect the same on the headlamps.

Thanks, Dan

I want to ask what do I need to buy if I want to change halogen headlamps H7 for xenon D2S. My D3 is in S version with coil springs suspension so I need non adaptive xenon headlamps, headlight washers on front bumper. And what else ? Sensors on rear swingarms, wires, light switch and windshield washer bottle with from xenon version ?

Robert you might have a problem changing to xenon lights. As you have coil springs your current lights have built in levelling. But I doubt if you will find xenon headlight units with that built in as they would have been fitted to Discoverys on air. A lot of research is needed to see if you can get the levelling sorted before worrying about the other stuf.

Do not know the cost in the UK but here in Oz they want half an arm and the first born so becomes uneconomical.
Better to just change globes Smile
