Sat Nav Screen Scratched

My new to me D4 has a scratch the full length of the factory sat nav / radio touch screen. Has anyone ever tried to polish scratches off one with toothpaste or simular?

Little worried about knackering the touch, or causing more scratches.

It's hard.... the display has a anti glare surface layer and, IMHO, if you try to polish it (specific display polish or toothpaste) you could ruin the layer.... but personally never tried....

a possible solution:

Might try it with brasso and see what happens. It's annoying but not £300 annoying.

I used both and it did take a lot and lot of rubbing i was even thinking of using a dremmel to help it along you can get the rouge from ebay and mix it with water to a paste and start rubbing with cotton wool Thumbs Up

How about a screen protector? I put one on a phone with a badly scratched screen and you can't see the scratches any more. I don't know if you can get one but you could buy a pound shop one and see if it helps.

Might have try the screen protector idea.

I tried with a silver polish (don't have Brasso) and it removed all the deep finger marks where it's been pressed repeatedly but hasn't really touched the scratch.
