Flat spot below 1800rpm

My Sdv6 has an annoying flat spot below 1800rpm. Above that it pulls like a train. No smoke, no warning lights but when it drops below 1800 its just flat as a pancake(usually at junctions or slow corners). The trouble is i then give it a bit more throttle and it kicks down and takes of like a rocket Rolling Eyes

Thanks in advance
Paul

I did wonder about the egr as i had similar symptoms on a d3 years ago but that was much worse and hardly accelerated at all below about 2500rpm. This is nowhere near as bad but still a pronounced delay below 1800

Was hoping the EGR valves were good on the d4 Confused

What did you do to cure it? I sometimes think my D4 hesitates under similar circumstances to yours. Thumbs Up

Changed a MAF sensor and stripped and cleaned the TCO valve. Also found a split vac hose under the engine cover. Much better than before but getting a Low boost pressure fault flagging up (no fault light) so going to check if actuators are sticking Thumbs Up

marsie, How did you manage to diagnose a MAF sensor, TCO valve (by the way what is a TCO valve Embarassed ) and find the split hose without there being any faults?
I'm intrigued as I have a similar issue but occasionally it disappears so I know it is intermittent. It's driving me nuts as I know it can be fine, but most of the time I have this 'hesitation'. Whenever it is at a garage I'm told there is nothing wrong and they 'are all like that'.
Happy to have a look myself but a few pointers would be much appreciated. Thumbs Up

Vac hose found purely by accident. TCO (TURBO CHANGE OVER VALVE) valve is a common fault on D4s so did that as a precaution and MAF sensor was swapped from a good car and improved the hesitation. It is still there (more than my older TDV6 D4) but is much improved. Next job is to check the turbo actuator movement but it seems the hesitation cannot be fully cured on a SDV6 Sad
