Very sorry to hear this.
Like others I'm sure, I didn't always agree with BL, but I could always appreciate that he managed to fight his corner and make his side of the argument coherent, regardless of whether I agreed with it or not.
This place will be quieter, and poorer, without his lively input.
My condolences to his family RIP Bruce."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

This is very sad news to read this morning. Another established forum member gone.
Never met him, but he was never one to hold back his views and he loved an argument on here. Knowledgable on most things; opinionated on many.
I shall remember him whenever I check the oil level - using the dipstick, of course - on our cars (one of his favourite topics).
Thank you for keeping an eye out for him, Gareth; Thank you for doing the research on his whereabouts, DG.
RIP Bruce, and condolences to family and friends.

always sad when someone passes away - RIP Bruce, you always were an argumentative sod
I always find it strange when someone active on forums passesaway - their previous posts stand as an echo of when they were alive, but still with the same visibility/standing as they ever were even after they've gone Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Such a shame. I always took the trouble to read through all his meanderings and thoroughly enjoyed his views and opinions. A very sad loss to Disco 3.com.

Sad news. RIP Bruce. Reminds me that as I get older that I only have one life and it's not a rehearsal.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
Got to admire him as he never followed the trend. I did not always agree with what he wrote but as he said on quite a few occasions " We are all entitled to our own opinion" God bless fella you were always an interesting read and the forum will be a slightly duller place without you. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Rip Bruce, it only dawned on me last night that I have worked with I'm a few times, it wasn't until someone posted that he was from Halifax way and visited Ireland that I but two and two together I'm so shocked that been reading his posts for years and never knew it was him
Bruce used to be in charge of the maintenance department at Marshals bricks at the Brookfoot works near Halifax and was very passionate about all things Land Rover and his second home in Ireland
I have been talking to one of his ex work colleagues this morning and remmanising about him, his family knew he had a Morris 1000 that he sent away to be restored but they don't know where he sent it to . They have all the paperwork that Bruce collected over the years including the log book
If any off you guys on here knows where he sent it to would you please contact me on here and I will pass this infor to my mate at the Brookfoot works who in turn will pass it onto his family
Rip Bruce you where a lovey chap to have known
