After market rear TV/DVD Players.

Hi,

I am thinking about getting a rear TV unit or DVD player (ideally both) for my D4. My preference is probably something that can be ceiling mounted in the rear so both seats can see it, and would be brilliant if it could be wired through the car speakers - although that may be tricky - I suppose wireless headphones is the other way - or built in speakers.

Is there a make and model that is best for the Discovery, or one that people have installed and would recommend, or am I best just popping in to a high street Car Audio and Video installer / retailer?

Also I have a TV in the dash which is great - but is there a way to wire it, or set it up, so that it doesn't turn off when you're moving? I know why it does that - but we do quite a lot at home and on private land with the car - so it would stop it coming on and off then.

Thanks,

Smile

Hi - that looks very interesting. What feed do you put into them? Is it possible to wire from the car aerials to the screens, or have you just wired a dvd player?

LOT cheaper then I thought it would be - although my head rests are cream!

I have a pair of screens something like these:

https://nextbase-shop.com/epages/fcffe056-...ucts%2F153

I then take the headphone output of one and into the AUX input in the back of the centre console. I can then control the volume and all 4 kids can get a view of one or other of the screens.

Search for the post on it about 5 years ago.
I fitted them to my headrests not that hard to do but a bit daunting cutting the leather. I have a spare set of ligh coloured headrests for a D4 if you are interest.

As for what I feed into them. I had an old Ipod for each screen loaded with films that the kids liked, I know a couple of other also connected it to a digital TV receiver so they could have TV as well, did not connect mine to the front screen.
