.....last night up in Staffs
Came on just after 7.30pm and finished at 12.45am with just a short mid-way break and two musical sections supported by a bloke thinking he was Eric Clapton on guitar and some woman on a recorder (not as bad as it sounds actually).
We booked as sure he won't be around for much longer, as a performer at least, and you can see/hear his memory is going. He lost his lines quite a few times but often used it as part of the act. Good interaction with the audience and still funny in the corniest of ways.
Majority of the audience was about same age as he was

Saw him in Glasgow in July - oddly, just before wife started her new job in Liverpool on the Monday. She could have got a lift off him.
He was pretty good - not 'for his age', just pretty good. The support acts I could have done without, but he was on form.
He turned to the band a few times to 'check where we've got up to' - but a friend saw him the next night in Dunfermline and he did exactly the same then (probably at the same points).
He came across as a nice man who enjoyed what he was doing, and that made the show well worth it. 2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

I saw Tommy Cooper on Blackpool pier in the mid seventies and I thought he too was a legend. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.
