is the first step of suspension issues ...
to replace all the sensors?
I have multiple suspension faults, I'll list them below:
1) I get a yellow 'suspension fault' light and message on the dash, sometimes it goes away, but it always comes back on the next trip.
2) the bar indicator on the display screen shows my front driver side wheel dropped through the floor
3) I will get multiple 'bing' sounds and yellow suspension fault warnings on longer drives, but the car still behaves
4) Occasionally on longer drives, I get a red suspension fault light, and special functions disabled, and the car says Max 30mph and the suspension gets crazy bumpy with it lowering at the rear. Making it undrivable
If I pull over, turn off the car and turn it on again, the suspension gets back to a yellow fault and I can raise it back up to standard height and carry on my journey
5) the car lowers completely overnight (this I wonder is a different issue) tonight I will measure all corners, remove the EAS fuse and see which corner might show the problem

Need related logged codes reading
Could be one of a number of air issues

@ Andyschleckscat , Shucks ur make me blush
Plus 1 as ideally need the codes , have u got ur own code reader plse , as that would be a massive help including being able to see live data
Good call pulling the fuse F26 and leave overnight
But before that , put suspension into normal ride height , measure from the centre of the wheels to the bottom of the wheel arches , pull fuse and see what they are in the morning
Plus the warning over 30 mph normally comes up when ur in off road height so maybe the calibration is out
However see how u get on after you’ve pulled the fuse and left overnight , Plse let us know how u get on
Hope that also helps

Hi
Ur so welcome , always a team effort , That’s brilliant u have an iid , looks like the heights sensors may req calibrating
However will be good as a starting basis to see what the heights are in standard height and results being left overnight with the fuse pulled
Plus would u be so kind to check what the battery Vdc is with the engine off and running plse, thks
With the above known At least then we will know what stage we’re at and can go from there

ok, got some measurements
Corner Before & After:
FL 46.9 down to 45
FR 46.5 down to 43.8
RL 48.8 down to 43.6
RR 49.8 down to 41.5
Battery was 11.9v before starting engine, then 14.3 with engine running

Many thks , Apologises is that in mm or inches plse
May i also ask was that from the centre of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch and taken at normal ride height plse
Battery with the engine off should be 12.6 Vdc and engine running around 14,5 Vdc , urs looks ok with the engine running but below 12 volt the battery is virtually dead
Needs recharging , or if it’s over 5 x years old may be time to replace it , after charging u could check it again with the engine off after a few days to see if it’s held it’s charge
U can also get the cig lighter plug in volt maters if u wish , something like the link , easy to monitor ur battery then before start up and with the engine running

sorry ,cm
so in mm its:
FL 469 down to 450
FR 465 down to 438
RL 488 down to 436
RR 498 down to 415
as soon as I saw the state of the voltage I replaced the battery this morning - it was 3+ years old but was a cheap one at the time to get me up and running.

I use a lighter socket volt gauge in mine. It’s not super accurate but it gives you a good idea of general condition and healthy running. Good in winter to monitor how greedy the car is for volts on full defrost and both screens heating.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

No probs, our posts just crossed , lol
So from the centre of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch in mm and at normal ride height
Fronts should be 466mm
Rears 485mm
Brilliant u replaced the battery as know a low battery can cause all sorts of issues
So you’ve got
FL 469 down to 450 minus 19 mm
FR 465 down to 438 minus 27 mm
RL 488 down to 436 minus 52 mm
RR 498 down to 415 minus 83 mm
As it’s dropped would signify a leak , because u removed the fuse so it couldn’t self level
I would check with some soapy water around the compressors dryer end cap , also the air tank, alas when they do leak it will be on the top weld which u can’t clearly see , unless ur pull off the connection to the air tank and use either a vacuum pump or pump it up and use a pressure gauge , or remove it to check with some soapy water whilst filling it up with air
If u don’t mind me adding please , may req further work down the line, as the entire landy has dropped it can signify the front and rear valve blocks are letting by, this is normally due to the dryer material turning to dust and getting under the seals
But see how u get on first and can cross that bridge later if required , but don’t worry can easily talk u through what ever needs doing as it may also need calibrating / height sensor etc after the leaks are sorted out
Hope that helps a little

You may have 2 problems.
One GS is chasing.
And also that height sensor that is bouncing up and down in the display. (Front left)
Check the wiring to that sensor (with axel stand under that corner) and maybe fuse removed.
If you can’t see any issues with the sensor wiring, I think you need to replace the sensor.

Hi Pete
Many thks as always for ur vast knowledge
Must admit as the entire landy has dropped am concerned dryer material may have turned to dust causing the front and rear valve block seals to let by , but as always not evident until there’s a leak
Also thinking with the 30mph warning , I assume the sensor thinks it’s in off road height in going out of its preset calibration settings casing the bouncing
Know when I first got mine that silica caused a lot of issues with valve blocks letting by etc , but didn’t really know until I fixed all the leaks
Thks again
Ps, hope ur good

Hi all,
I am not an expert in any of this... but... I had to have my rear block valve cleaned due to my beloved D3 sitting on its A** over night. For my crude experience, I may say, clean all the valves before any major repair.
Your guys might be right, drier could be gone already, but cleaning the valves to clear the error and make it run again, (especially the painful rear one).
- Regarding the bouncing height sensor, not sure if it throws an error (unless it is really defective and full off-scale) my front left sensor always "bounced" to the point that if I am in off-road height on a perfect flat tarmac, the wheel on screen goes up and down, blinking and all. (if I select special mode the vehicle even 'bip' to say the wheel is off-scale high) but that is it. No other error, bing or bong whatsoever.
Hope it helps.

I could understand it while at the extreme if it’s travel. Did you fix it?
It shouldn’t happen in normal height mode though. Mid sensor point.
