Can anyone explain the DSC problem I'm having? |
|
I'm having problems with my DSC activating whilst turning corners
When I first bought my D3, the previous owner informed me that the DSC, would activate on the nearside wheel whilst turning right but could be switched off at the dash and it would be fine.
Well over the last couple of days I found that it's been getting progressively worse and found that the offside front wheel bearing had quite a bit of play.
So, replaced the wheel bearing with a timken one, fully expecting this to cure my issue - well it has, but equally it hasn't!
The DSC will now activate on my offside wheel whilst turning sharp left, the opposite of what it was doing before the bearing was replaced
The nearside bearing looks fairly new, still clean metal anyway, no play in the bearing, and nothing that I can feel on the bushes, tyre pressures all equal and full set of matching tyres.
Now, it's no where as severe on this wheel as it was on the other, but that is maybe how the other side started, so I think I'll change the bearing out on this side and hopefully that will cure the problem
But was wondering if anyone else had come across the problem of the DSC activation swapping sides

Check the steering angle sensor calibration , if no play in the bearings.

DSC used to activate on my D3 when the rear upper arms were kaput.
Only ever did it on progressive left turns that went up hill. New rear uppers, problem solved. Mods:

Make sure the front and rear suspension bushes are in good condition. If they are, then a geometry check, and a steering calibration would help.
