I seem to accumulate a mountain of wheels & tyres, and am considering storage options.
I know that they should be stored in the cool, away from sunlight, but am running out of garage space.
I'm contemplating storing a set of 5 wheels & tyres outside, stacked on pallets, to keep them off the ground, and covered with a tarpaulin. These will be my summer tyres in winter & vice versa, so will be rotated.
Any thoughts; is this viable or do I have to cart them up a ladder to storage space above my garage?

I keep summer / winter wheels and tyres outside. Sunlight is a killer, as you say, so always covered. Pumped up to 20psi keeps the shape. Ive stacked wheels vertically in a stack, and in a row on their tread, doesn't seem to make any difference. Richard

For the right wheel & tyre combo I'll look after a set of two.

Somewhere in the past I was told to store tyres on wheels horizontally, and tyres off wheels vertically.d4 HSE

Correct, if you store tyres (off the wheel) horizontally, they will set narrow, and become very difficult to put back on a wheel.Richard

Small garden shed would make the space look tidier for SWMBO Dave
