Check tyre pressures, it makes a vast difference if they are under pressure, also lubricate lower steering column uj Thumbs Up

It can vary vehicle to vehicle, we were down to purchase a 65 plate HSE with 3k on the clock, had it for a week before rejecting it for the MY16 Landmark with 1k on the clock, the Landmark is much lighter, can’t explain why, all the same parts, tyres, steering components etc.

Geometry and/or tyres... maybe it needs a 4 wheel alignment?

I have found wheel alignment can make a huge difference to the weight of the steering , followed by steering shaft UJ seizing.

You need to be speeking to the guy who did the 4 wheel alighnment and checking the before and after printouts, in the meantime keep a check on tyre wear. Thumbs Up
