Just received here also - twice?
Interesting the Discovery is only £1,500 where as all the others are much higher - does that mean D5 is still in high demand?
No thank you "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"
Current Ride: D4 XS Commercial Baltic Blue SDV6 fully loaded with heated everything
Track Days: BMW E36 M3 Evolution MY 1996 (3.2 Litre 377 BHP sat in 1,250 Kgs of car, with a pro safety cage and some serious braking power)
or ... if you're daft enough to get a D5, you're daft enough to part with more of your cash ?

Took my low mileage 9,800 D4 in for a service, sales manager says have thought about trading up sir ? he says we can give you an excellent trade in on your D4 we do not have in stock with low mileage and they are still in demand, we have some great discounts on the D5, after a while he let out sales of D5 are not as high as anticipated would you care to test drive one ? no thanks I say just looks like any other SUV could even be a Kia or a Hyundai I said. I drove off into the sunset admiring my D4 with a big grin

Black Friday bull
Nothing there that can’t be achieved at any other time of the year.
A 18MY D5 to the same spec as my 17MY is £3k more so £1.5k ain’t much of a bargain. Need to try a bit harder LR. The whole range at the moment is way overpriced, not just the D5, the Velar being the worst. Bigger discounts needed before I purchase another LR.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Can’t be too long before we get a facelifted D5. If they made a long wheel base version so I can fit a dog in the boot with three rows up, that would be ideal for me. Plus give them the opportunity to redesign that rear quarters of the car, the rest isn’t too bad imo.

It’s only been on sale since March. It’s had a price hike and minor trim revisions for 18MY, it will be a while yet before facelifts happen.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I’m sure they could bring a facelift forward if sales are that bad. I’ve not seen a single one on the roads down here in Devon yet.

I've told my dealership principle the same and a LR rep. LR need to make a Discovery XL with a better boot space. I have cancelled a FFRR order due to space, I even looked at getting coach builder to alter the FFRR LWB for more boot space. I cancelled a D5 order because of load space too we just can't fit our dogs in any new LR. The whole LR ranges practicality is diminishing revision by revision
Oh and the XL should have a manual split tailgate in my Expert Opinion MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

The sales ain’t that bad, though, judging by the increased price, which doesn’t add much, and the lack of any big discounts. Up here the D5 is becoming a common site, along with the Velar.
The D5 doesn’t really need to be any longer, there is a few car parks in my area where the 5 is too long for the bays. It needs to be squared of at the rear which will provide a massive increase in space. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Agree that’s what I explained to LR no bigger externally it could be massive with the right design just won’t be as aerodynamic but I’d be happy to pay that price if it works for us.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

the guy fixing my roof tells me his mate was offered a deal too good to turn down for his D4 in similar circumstances because they had someone desperate to buy it.

Not sure they are. Plenty of nearly new cars nudging 180 days with substantial price drops. If I was a car dealer I would prefer a quick turnaround of stock. (Car Guru is a great tool when buying a car)
Oddly the only LR product that I would buy is an SVR. Test drove a DS and Evoque back in 2015. Left unimpressed with the DS and "do you think I was born yesterday" with the Evoque. Bought a PHEV instead and a V8 D3
A Client of mine has a petrol D5. Sounded like a sewing machine when I started it.
