Servicing + Bolt for roof bars |
|
Hi guys, am a newish owner based in Solihull. Sad to say I've made it to 40 before having my first landy (D4 HSE) which is slightly ironic for where I live! Anyway, I put the car through it's paces in the snow on Sunday and I can see what all the fuss about.... all while drinking a latte
In fact the ONLY cars on the road were Land Rovers with the exception of an uber taxi driver who had put his car in the hedge!
Anyway, I've just hit 59K and the 'service required' has popped up.
Question 1. Assume I need to have the 64K (£699) service?
Question 2. I have a LR warranty on the car but I've never had a problem supporting Independents / specialists for my BMW's. However... should I stick with the main dealers or not? Am fully aware that I DON'T have to stick to main dealers for the warranty to stay valid as long as it serviced correctly. My main issue with main dealers is that (in the case of my BMW) it was full of 16 year olds with laptops rather than mechanics who scratched heads when you said words like 'valve clearances!' On my classic M5, it was a waste of time!
Questions 3. Does anyone know the bolt type used on the roof bars? That small (allen / hex) one which is made of cheese? Just remembered I need to replace it!
Kindest,
Jonathan
