Detachable tow bar replacement kkeys
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement key for my OEM detachable towbar. The key No on the. lock barrel is 1D25. I've tried Replacement Keys but the ones they sent do not fit The key goes into the lock but will not turn. Thanks

Maybe your locks seized up if not used for a while, soak it in WD 40 or similar for a while, the other end of the barrel can be accessed behind the stainless plate, give it all a good soak and leave it for a day or so, or just replace the barrel & key altogether.

Thanks for your response. I'll try the WD40 soak. Do you know how the stainless cover comes off.

Out of interest, should the key be able to be removed when the towbar is off the car? Mine doesn't seem to, but comes out when the towbar is mounted.King of the typo.

That’s ok, the safety pin on the towbar needs to engage so the handle turns releasing the key, can’t remember what holds the stainless cap on, i think its a torque screw, i changed my detachable for a fixed type. Found a link below for a replacement lock, apparently youll need to remove your old one to check the type. For security because its a public forum best not to mention how to remove the lock, I’m sure youll understand.

I've only got one key but stupidly never considered getting a couple more cut. In my mind I'd have to buy a new lock and keys

Hi James,
I seem to have the same issue as you. Broke the only key I had. Did you get it sorted and how?
