Very good video.
This whole thing is making me grind my teeth though. Landrover/bmw/everyone else can say whatever they want can’t they ? If ZF say service every 100,000kms then legally how can the car manufacturer say “sealed for life”
The point I’m trying to make is ultimately it’s a blatant lie and why are they not being held accountable for it ? The amount of gearbox faults people have due to this must be staggering the world over and just like other issues it’s just being swept under the rug. I’m confused. Why ?Jarrod

You buy the car from JLR/BMW, not from ZF. So your warranty is with JLR/BMW, not ZF.
Time to register a domain and blow this whole charade the hell up,
Truthaboutautogearboxoilchanges.net or something equally snappy....
Another thing you can do is send this link to everyone you know with an auto gearbox and get them to pass it on. Educating the people is the only way to end this terrible misinformation. We are the ones who will hold them to account.
There’s also a case for a class action lawsuit against car manufacturers for deliberately ignoring OEM supplier maintenance advice, and making cars less efficient, and therefore burning up more fuel, creating more pollution etc.

Hi mate
I think when the word lifetime / sealed for life is mentioned , they should really mean lifetime of the gearbox and not the oil

Hi mate
Agreed , surely though car manufacturers should take advice from the supplier of said part when fitted in their vehicles and what’s recommended
Alas though someone must have decided to ignore ZF , there the ones who need to take responsibility
think you are all missing the point - "sealed for life", clearly LR are just saying the vehicle has a life of 100000km, not their fault you choose to run them after they reach their "scrap by" date Pete

All jokes aside. Unless landrover actually specify in literature “we state the working life of the vehicle to be 100,000km” or some such jargon then surely they would be liable ??

Indeed, when I bought my D4 it had 70,000km on the clock. I got ZF to change the transmission oil, it cost half of what LR quoted me, and the mechanic told me all they would do is drive the car to ZF anyway.--

But the truth is, it is sealed for life, once the oil loses its goodness, the gearbox is dead, so the car makers statement is factual!
