Corrosion Warrenty
Hello, I wonder if anyone can give any advise on the LR corrosion Warrenty. I have a new to me 13 plate Discovery 4. I have found a small bit of rust on the lower tailgate just near the upper plastic trim. I understand LR offer a 6 year corrosion warranty. However for this to be valid does the vehicle have to be dealer serviced. The previous owner to me has had it regularly serviced but not by a LR dealer. Thanks in advance

As I recall it's a 5 year anti-perforation warranty, from what a LRCS bod said on here. It has to be from within, and create a hole. It may have improved, somehow I doubt it.

Bit of steel swarf or something on the tailgate pre painting? Like the creature in Alien, just not as scary.

I have added a couple of pictures here
https://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=53602
It is about the size of a 50p peice, is not seen when the Tailgate is closed.
Looks like corrosion from under the paint.
It was an optional Extra Paint Finish when the previous owner ordered the car.
Barrosa Black.
The rest of the Car is Immaculate with not a mark

To clarify, in line with the corrosion protection warranty policy as outlined in the warranty manual, it covers the following:
"Should any part of the bodywork of the vehicle be perforated by rust corrosion, the panel(s) affected by the perforation will be repaired or replaced by a Land Rover dealer completely free of charge"
please note that the term 'perforated' refers to a hole that penetrates through the bodywork caused by corrosion from the inside of underside as a result of fault manufacture or materials.
