Drivers side heated seat not working

I have an issue that the drivers side seat heater is not working, passenger side works fine.
I have looked for any threads on this & there are many, I found one a while ago that described how to repair if the heating wire was broken, i can’t find it again, it said to use a connector (presume this is one of the tube type) or if you were handy with a soldering iron you could repair it by soldering. Would it need to have heat shrink applied? Once soldered I’m just about to spend around £1000 on car for tyres & MOT so if I could fix this myself it would be great.
My drivers seat is showing the typical signs of wear the seat squab is collapsed on door side so I’m assuming that this has broken heater wire, once weather warms up I will check electrical input/output with my meter.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Tom

yeah, you locate the fault, hopefully this can be obvious with a burn mark on the heater pad.

Locate the 2 ends of the broken wire, and join with ordinary wire. (and yeah heat shrink is good)

(avoid crimps and you are likely to feel the lump on your ass ) Rolling with laughter

Well I did that on a vauxhall anyway

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the update, once it warms up I will give it a go.
