Slow cold start and smokey idle

Recently I’ve purchased a 2006 SE with 80k on the clock. I knew I had a few issues when I bought it so just after some advice.
It is a little sluggish to start from cold maybe 3-4 seconds and smokes like a trooper on idle. It’s definately un burnt fuel so after some tips on where to start.
It’s got egr blank, de-cat, alisport intercooler and possibly a remap although the previous owner wasn’t 100% sure.
He claims it only started to smoke after the cat was removed.
So far the only thing I’ve checked is that the map sensor is clean.
I’m siding towards an injector issue but was after some top tips before I splash out on the nanocom unlocks. I’ve got a td5 too so have a nanocom already.

Many thanks

My D3 smokes more when cold following the de-cat. Soon clears though.
Sounds as though the sluggish starting could be a glow plug issue.

You may find the cat was covering up a possible injector issue.

On a side note diesels emitting white smoke on idle is soon to be an mot failure.

Thanks, what is the best tool for measuring injector balance?
I've got access to a Nanocom but would need to pay for the codes.
I take it the Hawkeye doesn't have that feature?

So my iid tool arrived today.
Just plugged it in and got these dismal readings.
I’ve read that it’s not necessarily the highest and lowest figures that pinpoint a specific injector(s) so would appreciate an expert taking a look to help me out!
