Yes it was , oily mud. When the trims were removed couldn't see anything missing that was obvious.Maybe someone with access to Microcat could find it
There were no noticeable expansion marks on the ends where a drain tube would normally show.
Where's the fuel nozzle overflow draintube lead to ? Don't take life too seriously ..... it's not permanent

Dealer told me it was the overflow from the filler naozzel area, just hangs down. If anyone finds out exactly where I'll fit it properly and tie off withe cable tie. Getting there is half the fun

Hi All,
It seems that it might be the hose located on the bottom of the fuel filler recess, which would drain the water/spilt fuel. Part number BZX500010.

That's the one, nothing holding it there though, no wonder it falls out.
Looks like wire ties then. Getting there is half the fun

Well Well,
I use EPDM and Butyl quite a lot. One thing that must never come into contact with either, is any oil based product. I find it amassing that a car manufacturer has used EPDM as a fuel filler drain tube. I expect the reason they have fallen of is the fact that the pipe has been affected by the fuel and started to emulsify. Making it too soft to grip the male pipe its supposed to be fixed to. Yep...it's a bit strange isn't it?
EPDM can be used for almost any type of tubing and is resistant to almost anything (alcohol, water, hydraulic fluid and alkali/acid within reason)...pretty much the only things it can't handle, as Andrew rightly said, is oil, kerosene (I think) and diesel
It would probably be suitable as an occasional drainage pipe if it was coated or blended and I guess this is the reason why it's used here....it's unlikely to get much diesel drained through it....
Oh yes....and it's very cheap compared to silicon-based materials etc which is probably the main reason they used it. The fact that the tube isn't permanently clamped on means that it's not that important and isn't a requirement for the type-approval of the car.....
After all, the D3 is such a cheap car why not take a few short-cuts 2006 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
