SEETHING! 2005 LR3 transmission service
Land Rover compadres, I'd like some advice on a particularly thorny issue. I'm in the dubious process of replacing my transmission fluid, filter and pan with the Britpart metal pan and filter combo.
In addition, I am also replacing both catalytic converters; they are both out making the transmission service a little easier, or so I thought...who in their right mind would place metal bolts into an aluminum transmission case with a plastic pan!?!?!?!?!
There are 21 of the T20 torx bolts and I've been able to remove 2, with 2 snapping in the case and two bolt heads stripping-out. I am ready to fetch some gellydite and end the suffering. I've been slow and cautious on the bolt removal, giving each one a solid tap with a ball peen to "wake them up"
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best brand of torx drives and an extraction tap and dye tool / procedure to recommend?
Thanks!

they are prone to snapping where the bolts are near the exhaust.
I applied penetration fluid into the top of the hole and waited a few minutes.
Didn't snap any after that

Seething is a small village in Norfolk, with an airfield and a scrap yard.
Don't think there is a transmission specialist there.
