Replace rear air suspension on LR3 2005
So here the story
Rear left air suspension is damaged
So I buy a new part and try to replace it my self
Dismantling old damaged air suspension is fine, but I have problem with installation
Below steps I did for removal
1. Lift the car
2. Remove the rear left tyre
3. Unscrew 15mm nut on top of air suspension (2 in front, 1 in back) with rachet wrench (seriously use rachet wrench not only wrench or you will cry when removing 3 nut)
4. unscrew the hose on top (air hose line)
5. unscrew the bottom one
6. remove the air suspension
Here the comparison between damaged and new one
Below steps I made to do installation
1. Screw 3 nut (15mm) top of air suspension (2 in front, 1 in back) with rachet wrench
2. connect the hose line on top
3. connect bolt and nut on the bottom one
This step no 3 is problematic since although I try to push rear suspension arm, the hole of bottom of air suspension is still not aligned with hole of rear air suspeion arm (bottom)
ANy advise?

Re: Replace rear air suspension on LR3 2005
hi
when u put the new strut in, make sure as u do the 3 x nuts up the strut is sitting tight against the top strut support
then put a bottle jack underneath the wishbone and gently jack it up until the hole lines up, coppaslip the bolt and gently tap it in, torque nut to 300nm
hope that helps

hi
jack it up, take the wheel off, put an axle stand under it
then use a bottle jack underneath the wishbone , don’t try and deflate the strut , as you’ve got the airline already connected on the top so won’t compress down
that’s how i did it on both sides

its finally done
lesson learnt:
dont put the air hose connected to rear valve, do it in last stage
How I did it it was by loosen the air suspension support on top and pushing hardly the rear suspension arm downward and then at 1 point properly connect the bottom bolt and nut
Thanks all for your feedback, much appreciated
