What was here ?

Evening all

I’ve recently acquired a d4 and while giving her a clean
I noticed this bracket / casing under the passenger seat , a small plastic corner
Cover was left there as well as though it had been taken off to remove something

Has anybod any ideas as to what was there ?
(All jokes welcome )

I think it's for the rear seat entertainment DVD player or something similar. There's another one under the drivers seat too. I fitted a couple of two way radios in mine.

Nav DVD player would live there. Maybe someone fitted the bracket and then realised no nav was on build sheet.

Maybe your vehicle was factory owned for development purposes.

One of my friends used to work for British Aerospace as an Engineer his job was to design and build test rig frames for all sorts of test equipment, for all their companies at that time even Rover Group.

Just a possible, outside of the box maybe, perhaps investigate the build history and ownership?

The D4 doesn’t use DVD nav afaik? It has a hard disk storage system.

Under my passenger seat lives the video distribution unit for the surround cameras I think?

That’s right. The DVD player for films on the D4 is in the dashboard.

There was a a DVD player under the passenger seat for the sat nav on the D3.
