Hello all,
I've searched the forum but need to know for definite if I need to change the wear sensor if I'm changing the disks and pads. The "check Brakes" amber light comes up and goes again if I hit a bump on the road, so for the sake of a tenner should I just go and get one?
Thanks
Steve

The wear sensor is a sacrificial part, once activated it illuminates the amber dash warning light.
So if you replaced the pads when warned by the system you need a new sensor.
A previous number of folk may have changed pads before reaching the warning scenario but not the sensor, did mine last Wednesday and the sensor I replaced and would every pad change, it looked a bit fragile for repeated use.
If damaged it could be activated how you describe!
When the new sensor is fitted the warning lamp will extinguish, you do not need to reprogram anything.
