Passenger door lock replaced. Kin thing...

1.5 hrs to replace the lock Thumbs Up

£29 eblag new. Looked identical to lr minus a label, wasn’t holding much hope to be honest and time will tell, but for now it’s all fixed Thumbs Up

Followed guides on here
Removing handle from door proved a pita,
Don’t do as I did when removing emergency key lock, and take the screw all the way out for it to drop into the door skin,
Fished out no problem
Putting it back in Censored Censored
Bit of speaker wire wrapped around screw
Fished up and small screwdriver to manover into right direction sorted it
Lesson learnt.
Getting cables back on to latch...
Fiddly but with long nose plyers through striker plate hole
Soon had them pesky things back in....

Only took one picture which is not use to anyone..

Also boot lock is sorted, 2 min adjustment had that blighter sorted,
As was the nearly all way out ball joint on top of tail gate gas strut,

Next week car is going to Indy for him to drop gearbox a tad, to fix the split
Breather pipe, he can touch it but just can’t grab it
And it’s been crushed by gbox when put back in.

So have him the other task of rear arb bushes seeing as they are sat in the boot ready and waiting.
Whistle

Successful day today me thinks .... Thumbs Up

Mad as it sounds, its easier to tape the window up to the frame, remove the window regulator, then unbolt door latch and the door handle and remove as one lump, dead easy swapping cables over on the bench.

I did the tApe window up
And remove regulator

Just couldn’t get Handle off, didn’t want to force anything, so went the fiddly route, but wasn’t that bad in all honesty
Thumbs Up
