recommend me a rear propshaft :(
Hi folks, so working my way through the multitude of fixes with the new to me disco. So brake pipe advisory sorted , all new hoses bought and booked in next week so last advisory item was play in prop bearing and rubber failing. So 12 months on and 10000+ miles I'm guessing its now shot.
I'm Looking at the bearmach part as 3 year warranty and good price but is anyone running one and if so any issues ? - I'm already upto £1k so far on fixes and still got the dreaded front diff to do so any savings are a bonus .
Thanks and advance

Depending on your skill level you can replace the centre prop bearing. Its fiddly and a bit messy, but a new bearing is available for somewhere around 40 pounds. Requires removal of the complete propshaft and heatshield, and then separation of the bearing on the bench. If in doubt get a pro to do it for you as it is a bit tricky and certainly not a straightforward swap. It will save you money if you can do most or all of the work yourself.

Cheers did buy a bearing but put myself off with the pros and cons as read too many bad and good reviews. Also tried a few indys near me and they won’t do just a bearing not worth the hassle to them so gonna buy the full prop just not sure to go gkn or bearmach. Latter is £50 cheaper but gkn is original spec as I understand it ?
Think I’m going with bearmach as 3 year warranty
Anybody need a bearing cheap

I would buy GKN rather than bearmach but I have absolutely no evidence either way on one being better than the other.

I have used both GKN and Bearmach over the years. GKN around a very long time but I never had an issue with either. Maybe the longer warranty wins this one!
