| Car not starting with key |
|
Hi,battery warning light came on Sunday afternoon,luckily not far from home.Car would still start when I got home.Would not start on Monday to go to garage to get new alternator fitted.Bump started car,got to garage just as alternator started smoking.New alternator fitted but will not start by key,have to use wire where starter relay is after turning on ignition.Once running everything works as it should and no warning lights or messages.Have played moving the relays about and checked all fuses twice.Has any body got any ideas what it could be PLEASE. Ps.ignition lights do not dim on final stage of ignition start sequence Discovery 3,2.7. Manual

Hi,just updated my profile so should show everything now I hope.Had car 7 years and apart from replacing wear and tear bits it's the first problem I have had with it.thanks for taking time to read my question, Discovery 3,2.7. Manual

 Pete K,thanks for link.just been out to check fuses again and there wasn't one in number 60 ecm.presumebly popped out when it blew or was loose anyway.All fine now,well chuffed Discovery 3,2.7. Manual
