Well I've given up trying to pursuade my other half to have a Disco 3 sticker in the window - she described them as "too in your face" - what does she know.
However, she would be happy for me to have Disco 3 on the bottom of the numberplates instead of Guy Salmon. I had the idea that Martin could maybe create a link with a preferred numberplate supplier who could sponsor the site and give him a kick back of a few £ for every set he sold.
What do you think? I don't want to just go off and get them made up when there is an opportunity to develop the site funding a little.
EDIT BY MARTIN: Use THIS LINK to order plates via Craigsplates

Anyone that looses a front plate at Salisbury can get one via the above link (mentioning no names but drives a RRS).

Martin - any idea if Craigs Plates could do a small Land Rover green oval on the plates as well as lettering?
My existing plates have this but no idea where they came from (Land Rover I guess...?)

thought the lastest regs on Plates say that (from 05 onwards is it), it has to have the suppliers details on the plate, so this is whats usually at the bottom. MOT fail alledgedly without it.

From 1/10/07 the MOT has additional requirements to include the further inspection of number plates.
This basically means show plates even if the lettering is correct will now fail unless it has name and post code of the plate supplier on and the BS mark. Check out the link below

Ahem.......
Taken from http://www.motester.co.uk/
As every Tester and AE now knows, between Friday 16th and Saturday 17th November VOSA/Siemens flagged up a message on the MOT computer which reads:
“For technical reasons with immediate effect no registration plates must be failed for wrong colour – missing supplier details postcode – BSAU number – background overprinting – honeycomb or similar effect background non reflective borders – unacceptable symbols or flags until further notice. An SN will be issued with further details shortly.”
So what’s that all about then? We contacted VOSA to enquire and the person we spoke to said that there was a problem with the “legislative alignment” of certain aspects of the new number plate MOT requirements.
This means, we believe, that either VOSA, the DfT, or both had failed to ensure that the new number plate regulations (with respect to the issues noted in the message) were actually legally binding. Which means, of course, that they were not! So any failures issued on these number plate items since the new regulations were notified as being effective, were in fact invalid and could be challenged in law by the motorists concerned.
The official also confirmed that the Special Notice alluded to in the message would be out before the end of the week. It will contain details of the specific Reasons for Refusal that no longer apply (or more precisely never applied in the first place!). The reason this could not be incorporated into the message is that Siemens’ computer system is limited with respect to the length of message that can be transmitted to VTSs via the device.
It is estimated by VOSA that the situation will be remedied within a few months, by April – the time it will take to ensure that the new requirements are properly enshrined in the MOT regulations, making them lawful.
A more comprehensive report will appear in the next edition of MOT Testing in early February 2008.
